It’s a rare occurance but there was snow today, not enough to build a snowman but enough to get a few young at heart excited
A couple of us braved the weather and collected some manure for the Community Garden from Mary and her donkeys, with the snow not so much laying soft, crisp and even but hitting us horizontally in the face a top the mountain overlooking Crookhaven.
The Fastnet Lighthouse is simply an icon of this area. My daughter used to call it the “Happy Cake” as to her it looked like a birthday cake with one candle. To many it is known as the Teardrop of Ireland as it was the last view of Ireland as they sailed away to a new life.
We got sent this wonderful photo from Eileen who was dropping her kids off at the school bus yesterday morning. Red sky in the morning shepherd’s warning? The day was beautiful up to around 5 o’clock when the rain returned.
